Creating and Managing Your Donor Profile

Your donor profile is the heart of your RedLife experience. A complete, accurate profile makes it easier to match you with patients safely and only when you are truly able to help.

Why your profile matters

Your profile:

·       Tells others your blood group, location and basic availability.

·       Helps the system show you only relevant requests (e.g., same blood group and same city).

·       Lets blood banks and recipients know you are a voluntary, non‑paid donor willing to help safely.

An incomplete or inaccurate profile can lead to:

·       Messages for requests you cannot fulfil.

·       Delays for patients who need the right blood group.

·       Confusion at the blood bank if your data do not match.

Setting up your profile

When you first install and register in RedLife:

1.      Create an account

o   Use a valid mobile number or email.

o   Choose a strong password or PIN.

o   Verify your number/email with the code sent to you.

2.     Add basic information

o   Full name (or preferred display name, depending on app options).

o   Gender and age group (if needed for eligibility guidance).

o   City and area where you live or usually stay.

3.     Add your blood group

o   If you know your group from reliable testing (hospital report, licensed lab, previous donation), enter it.

o   If you are not sure, mark “Unknown” and consider getting tested at a licensed blood bank or lab. Do not guess.

4.     Set your availability

o   Indicate whether you are generally available to donate (e.g., “Active donor”) or currently unavailable (recent donation, illness, travel, pregnancy, etc.).

o   You can update this later at any time.

Keeping your profile up to date

You should review and update your profile when:

·       You change city or area (e.g., move for work or studies).

·       Your health status changes in a way that affects donation (new chronic condition, pregnancy, recent surgery).

·       You donate blood and need to mark yourself as “on rest” until your next eligible date.

Good practice:

·       After each donation, enter the date and place in your profile.

·       Use the app’s reminders to know when you are likely to be eligible again (e.g., after 3 months).

Controlling what others see

RedLife can offer options to:

·       Show only limited information to other users (e.g., first name and initial, city, blood group).

·       Keep your contact details hidden until you choose to respond to a request.

·       Allow you to turn off visibility temporarily if you are not available.

Understanding and configuring these settings helps you stay reachable when you want and private when you need.
