Should I ever pay a donor for blood?

No. You should never pay a donor for blood, and donors should not ask for money.

Paying for blood:

·       Encourages people to hide illnesses or risky behaviours just to qualify and get money.

·       Increases the risk of unsafe blood reaching patients.

·       Exploits financially vulnerable people.

·       Weakens trust in the system.

The safest model is voluntary, unpaid donation through licensed facilities. If someone demands money for donating, politely refuse and report it through RedLife’s “Report” feature or to the hospital.
