Isra University Hosts Successful Blood Donation Drive for Thalassemia Patients

Isra Hospital and Isra University joined forces for a vibrant One-Day Blood Donation Drive on February 3, 2026, at the Isra School of Nursing. The event, backed by the Directorate of Student Activities & Athletics and partnered with the Regional Blood Center (RBC) Jamshoro managed by Indus Hospital Karachi focused on supplying safe blood transfusions to thalassemia patients while championing humanitarian values.

Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Director of Isra Hospital, served as Chief Guest, inaugurating the camp with a ribbon-cutting ceremony amid cheers from students, faculty, and volunteers. Prof. Rebecca Wilson, Principal of Isra School of Nursing, and Dr. Saad Baloch, Additional Director of Student Activities & Athletics, joined the occasion. Dr. Kazi praised the participants' zeal, stressing voluntary donations' lifesaving role, and urged youth to embrace ongoing social welfare efforts. He toured the mobile blood bus and stations, commending the seamless setup.

Out of 76 eager donors, 41 units were successfully collected, showcasing robust community spirit. Certificates were presented to volunteers and donors, while RBC Jamshoro's Mr. Mohsin Khatri received an Ajrak and Isra University Shield for his pivotal role; Mr. Ayaz Shaikh earned a traditional Sindhi Ajrak for bolstering the initiative.
