Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has launched the Kingdom’s 2026 national blood donation campaign by donating blood, highlighting the importance of voluntary donations and community health.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Crown Prince’s participation reflects continued support for humanitarian initiatives and efforts to promote a culture of generosity, social responsibility and volunteerism across the country.
The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the importance of regular blood donation and encourage more people to become voluntary donors. Blood donations are essential for patients requiring emergency medical treatment, cancer care, treatment for blood disorders and other critical healthcare services.
Organisers are also working to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s blood supply system by ensuring safe and sustainable stocks of blood and its components. The initiative seeks to increase donation rates and help healthcare facilities meet patients’ needs across the Kingdom.
Official figures show that Saudi Arabia recorded more than 900,000 blood donors in 2025, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand voluntary donation and strengthen public participation in life-saving healthcare initiatives.
The 2026 campaign reinforces the message that regular blood donation can save lives while supporting the country’s broader efforts to improve healthcare services and ensure reliable blood supplies for patients in need.
