Blood Donation Camp Organised in Tando Adam

A blood donation camp was organised at the Shah Abdul Latif Municipal Library in Tando Adam to support children suffering from thalassaemia and help ensure a steady supply of blood for their regular transfusions.

The camp was arranged by the Thalassaemia Patients Welfare Society, Nawabshah, Shaheed Benazirabad, with the support of MPA Paras Dero. A large number of citizens participated and donated blood for thalassaemia patients.

Mohsin Ali, Field Manager at the Thalassaemia Centre Nawabshah, said organisers expected to collect around 300 blood bags during the ongoing campaign. He noted that previous annual blood donation drives in Tando Adam had collected between 150 and 200 bags, making the strong public response this year particularly encouraging.

Blood donors were also offered free screening tests for hepatitis, diabetes, HIV, malaria and haemoglobin levels. Organisers said the screenings help ensure the safety of donated blood while potentially allowing donors to identify certain health conditions at an early stage.

Parents and relatives of thalassaemia patients expressed their appreciation to the organisers and donors, stressing that patients with the inherited blood disorder require regular transfusions and timely access to safe blood.

The organisers appealed to philanthropists, young people and members of the public to donate blood regularly and support children who depend on transfusions to continue their treatment.

They urged citizens to participate in blood donation campaigns and help maintain adequate blood supplies for thalassaemia patients and others in need, emphasising that every donation can play an important role in saving lives.
